"The Golden Bachelor" Sizzling at 71: Unveiling the Irresistible Star Gerry Turner.

“The Golden Bachelor” is officially here, and he’s proving that it’s never too late to find love.

Grandfather Gerry Turner, 71, of Indiana will star as ABC’s first senior citizen leading man looking for love on television this fall.

“The Golden Bachelor” is the latest spinoff of “The Bachelor” franchise, which has aired 60 seasons since its debut in 2002. ABC’s upcoming series will provide viewers with “a whole new kind of love story – for the golden years” – as its synopsis states,

“[A] hopeless romantic is given a second chance at love in search of a partner with whom she can share life’s sunset years.”

Spinoff – which will air Mondays at 10 p.m. — is a new twist in ABC’s long-running dating show franchise, which has centered mostly 20-something and 30-something cast members for two decades.

The network portrays Turner as a “charming 71-year-old patriarch” who will demonstrate that romantic relationships can thrive at any age.

Gerry (pronounced “Gary”), a retired restaurant owner and loving father and grandfather, lives in his dream home on a beautiful lake in Indiana.

He is often busy hosting barbecues, playing pickleball, cheering on his favorite Chicago sports teams, driving a four-wheeler, and spending time with friends and family at restaurants and local haunts.

In 1974, Turner tied the knot with his high school sweetheart, Toni. Together they experienced a contented existence for 43 years with their two daughters, Angie and Jenny, and their two granddaughters, Charley and Peyton.

Tragically, Tony’s sudden illness led to his passing in 2017. After six years of mourning and with the unwavering support of her family, Turner has finally reached a point where she is open to finding love once more.
